Internal Organisation — Shelving, Drawers & Compartments

The internal configuration of a wardrobe is where organisation either succeeds or fails. A wardrobe that looks beautiful but forces you to search through three sections to find a specific item — or that has no dedicated space for shoes, accessories, or folded knitwear — is a wardrobe that has not been designed properly.

KLOZET® designs every wardrobe's internal configuration as carefully as its external doors and finish. Our designers work through your storage brief during the consultation: what categories of clothing you store, how much of each, how frequently you access each section, and what physical arrangement works best for your daily routine.

Hanging sections are the largest storage requirement for most wardrobes. KLOZET® designs hanging in two depths: short-hang (typically 95–100cm from the rail for shirts, jackets, and folded trousers) and full-hang (typically 160–180cm from the rail for dresses, suits, and formal coats). In most wardrobes, a combination of short-hang and full-hang sections — with shelving or drawers below the short-hang — delivers the most efficient use of the cabinet volume.

Shelving is adjustable on 32mm Euroscrew drilling — each shelf can be repositioned by hand to accommodate changes in what you store over time. KLOZET® specifies shelf depths of 50–55cm for standard built-in wardrobes and adjustable widths up to 100cm per shelf. For walk-in closets, open display shelving can be cantilevered from the side walls without visible supports, giving a clean, boutique retail appearance.

Drawer banks are specified in standard widths of 40cm, 60cm, and 80cm, with individual drawer heights from 120mm (for accessories, jewellery, and small items) to 220mm (for knitwear and folded trousers). Drawer fronts match the wardrobe door finish exactly — maintaining a consistent exterior appearance whether the drawers are open or closed.

Pull-Out Accessories & Specialist Storage

Beyond shelving and hanging, KLOZET® integrates specialist storage accessories for specific clothing categories and lifestyle requirements. These accessories are designed into the wardrobe during the consultation — not added as afterthoughts.

Trouser rails: Horizontal pull-out rails that extend from the cabinet, carrying multiple pairs of trousers without creasing. Available in chrome or matte black finish. The rail extends fully — bringing every pair of trousers to the front — and retracts flush with the cabinet interior when not in use.

Tie and belt racks: Pull-out frames with individual hooks or horizontal bars, mounted inside door panels or as independent pull-out units. Designed to keep ties, belts, and scarves accessible, visible, and uncreased.

Shoe storage: KLOZET® offers three shoe storage solutions: fixed tilted shelves (visible, open display, maximising space efficiency); retractable pull-out shoe trays at adjustable depths; and full-height open shelving towers sized precisely for the shoe collection. For walk-in closets, wall-length shoe shelving — with LED spot lighting at each shelf — creates a display quality that rivals boutique retail.

Jewellery and accessory drawers: Shallow drawers with fitted velvet or suede liners — divided into compartments for rings, earrings, watches, and bracelets. Available in dimensions from 40cm × 45cm with varying internal divider configurations. A lock cylinder is available as an option for valuables storage.

Laundry integration: A pull-out laundry basket — ventilated woven fabric in a powder-coated steel frame — can be integrated into the wardrobe base unit layout. The basket slides out on full-extension runners and lifts out of the frame for transport to the washing machine.

Pull-Down Hanging Systems — Ergonomic High-Reach Solutions

In wardrobes where the full floor-to-ceiling height is utilised — typically in Lebanese apartments with 3m–3.6m ceilings — the upper sections of the wardrobe exceed comfortable reach height. Standard fixed rails at this height are inaccessible without a step stool, and are typically either left unused or used only for occasional-wear items that are difficult to locate and retrieve.

KLOZET® offers integrated pull-down hanging rail systems as a solution to this challenge. These systems mount a hanging rail in the upper section of the wardrobe on a scissor-mechanism arm, which, when operated (by handle or motorised actuator), lowers the rail smoothly to a comfortable working height and locks in position while items are selected or hung.

The ergonomic advantage is significant: upper-section hanging becomes as accessible as eye-level hanging, allowing the full height of the wardrobe to be used productively without the inconvenience or safety risk of a step stool. This is particularly valuable in master bedroom wardrobes where significant hanging volume is required and where the wardrobe height is determined by the room's ceiling rather than standard furniture heights.

Manual pull-down systems operate via a smooth-action handle — requiring a gentle downward pull to lower the rail. The mechanism is counterbalanced so that the rail descends with controlled speed and requires minimal force to operate.

Motorised pull-down systems incorporate an electric actuator operated by a push-button or remote control. The rail descends and ascends at a controlled speed, stopping automatically at the low position and retracting fully when not required. Motorised systems are specified for wardrobes above 2.8m in height, where the manual reach to the handle becomes inconvenient, and for users with mobility considerations.

Load capacity for KLOZET® pull-down systems is rated at 15–25kg per rail — sufficient for a full section of clothing. The scissor mechanism is built from powder-coated steel with precision-machined pivot points that maintain smooth, rattle-free operation over the rated service life.

Space Optimisation Strategies for Lebanese Homes

Lebanon's residential market presents specific space constraints — particularly in Beirut's older apartment stock, where bedroom dimensions are often determined by pre-1990s floor plan conventions. KLOZET® designers are expert at maximising wardrobe storage within real-world Lebanese bedroom layouts.

Alcove wardrobes: The most efficient use of bedroom space is to install a built-in wardrobe within an existing alcove — where the three-wall enclosure allows the wardrobe to be maximally deep, floor-to-ceiling, and fully fitted without consuming any additional bedroom floor area. KLOZET® alcove wardrobes are custom-made to the exact alcove dimensions, including accommodation for any ceiling beams, architectural features, or irregular surfaces.

Room-divider wardrobes: A back-to-back wardrobe system — accessible from both sides — can serve as a room divider between a bedroom and a dressing area. The system stores clothing from both sides, maximises volume, and creates a functional spatial separation without the cost or disruption of structural partition walls.

Angled ceiling accommodation: Mountain properties in Lebanon frequently have sloped or angled ceilings. KLOZET® designs and manufactures wardrobes that follow the ceiling profile precisely — with raked door tops, stepped internal heights, and custom-angled panel cuts. No standard-height wardrobe is forced into a space where it does not fit; every KLOZET® wardrobe is manufactured to your room's exact geometry.

Corner wardrobes: L-shaped wardrobe configurations in room corners make productive use of space that would otherwise be difficult to fill. KLOZET® corner wardrobe systems can be designed with both standard hinged doors meeting at the corner, or with a combination of hinged and sliding systems that address the corner without requiring an impractical corner door swing.

Combined bedroom furniture: KLOZET® can design integrated bedroom furniture combining wardrobes, bedside storage, bed frames, and dressing tables — all manufactured in the same facility, to the same specification, with the same finish. A fully integrated bedroom suite coordinates perfectly and is managed under a single project, simplifying the renovation process significantly.
